Dr Penny Griffin is an Associate Professor in Politics and International Relations at the School of Social Sciences, University of New South Wales. Her research focuses on intersections of gender, sexuality, and feminist theory within international political economy, global development, and the politics of visual culture.

Research Interests include:
- Gender and Feminist Analysis in IR/IPE
- Global Economic Governance
- Neoliberalism and Development
- Queer and Poststructuralist Political Economy
- Popular Culture in World Politics
Her recent publications examine gendered dimensions of financial crises, the #MeToo movement, and the neoliberal gaze in global governance. She has been recognized with the 2010 BISA IPEG Book Prize for Gendering the World Bank.
Dr Griffin serves as ADA Co-Champion (Disability and Mental Health) and previously chaired the International Studies Association's Women's Caucus. Her teaching includes courses on global development, popular culture in world politics, and crisis political economy.
