Christopher Umfreville is a Senior Lecturer at Aston Law School within the Aston Business School, and Deputy Dean (Education) in the College of Business and Social Sciences at Aston University. His roles include overseeing education strategy, quality assurance, and student experience across the College.
He holds a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and was awarded the Aston Achievement Award for Excellence in Teaching (2022). His research focuses on corporate insolvency law, particularly pre-pack administrations and corporate rescue mechanisms. Notable projects include work for the Insolvency Service and R3, including evaluations of Company Voluntary Arrangements.
