Christopher Lawson is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Cognitive and Developmental Sciences MS/PhD program in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's School of Education. He teaches courses in educational psychology, human development, and cognitive psychology.

His research focuses on cognitive development from infancy to early childhood, particularly exploring how people generalize learned information across contexts. He investigates cognitive, developmental, and social factors that support learning transfer between environments like classrooms and real-world settings.
He directs the Cognitive Development Research Lab which studies generalization mechanisms across age groups.
