Rachel Wu is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Birkbeck College, part of the University of London, within the Department of Psychological Sciences. Her research focuses on developmental dynamics of attention and learning in infants, with a particular emphasis on how social and non-social cues influence learning processes. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Birkbeck, University of London (2007–2011), an M.Sc. in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from UCL (2006–2007), and a dual B.S. in Psychology and History/Anthropology from Carnegie Mellon University (2002–2006).
Her work spans cognitive development, neuroscience, and computational modeling. Notable contributions include studies on infants' use of social signals to learn from attention cues, visual statistical learning in noisy environments, and the neurodevelopmental basis of action perception. She has been awarded grants such as the British Academy Small Research Grant (PI) and the BPS Postdoctoral Study Visits Award.
