Christopher Hoch

Christopher Hoch is an Associate Professor and Director of Marching and Athletic Bands at The Ohio State University, holding an endowed chair for this role. He leads the renowned OSU Marching Band and oversees athletic band programs. His academic appointment is within the School of Music, where he teaches and conducts research in music education. Hoch earned multiple degrees from OSU, including a PhD in Music Education (2012), and has over 16 years of experience in music education at both high school and university levels.

His professional expertise includes innovative show design, as evidenced by nationally recognized halftime performances like the 2012 'Tribute to Classic Video Games' show. He also serves as musical director of the Scioto Valley Brass and Percussion Company and is active as a clinician, guest conductor, and arranger across Ohio.
