Christopher H. Toner

Christopher H. Toner is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Saint Thomas, specializing in virtue ethics, Aquinas, and military ethics. He served as an Army officer and taught leadership/ethics at military institutions before joining UST.

His publications analyze just war theory, virtue ethics, and Aristotelian-Thomistic frameworks. Notable works include examinations of self-centeredness objections to virtue ethics and the relationship between virtue and well-being. He is currently writing 'Virtue, Home, and Happiness' and serves as associate editor for the American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly.
