Daniel C. Wagner is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Director of Catholic Studies at Aquinas College. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Center for Thomistic Studies at the University of St. Thomas (2018), an M.A. in Philosophy from Gonzaga University (2010), a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Montana (2004), and an A.A. from Flathead Valley Community College (2001).
His research focuses on the intersection of Thomistic philosophy with Aristotelian metaphysics, philosophical anthropology, and phenomenology. Key areas include ethics grounded in Aquinas and Aristotle, the methodology of Karol Wojtyła (Pope John Paul II), and the role of natural philosophy as a preambula fidei. He also explores the compatibility of phenomenology with Thomistic thought.
Wagner has published widely in journals like Studia Gilsoniana and Reality, co-editing volumes such as The Intelligibility of Nature: The Wallace Reader (2023) and Thomas Aquinas: Teacher of Humanity (2015). His work bridges classical philosophy with contemporary ethical and theological discourse.
He serves as Chair of the Philosophy Department at Aquinas College and actively engages in interdisciplinary scholarship, emphasizing the unity of philosophical traditions with modern inquiry.
