Dr Christopher DJ Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Sheffield's School of Psychology and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. He holds degrees including a BSc (Hons), MSc, ClinPsyD, and PhD from Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Manchester, and other institutions. His research focuses on developing imagery-focused therapies for psychosis, particularly targeting schemas and mental imagery. Taylor has received notable recognition, including the 2021 British Psychological Society's May Davidson Award for contributions to clinical psychology. He leads the iMAPS-2 feasibility trial as Chief Investigator and collaborates on projects like the DEC:IDES trial as Co-Investigator. His work emphasizes telehealth delivery of therapy and psychological safety in healthcare staff. Taylor teaches neuroscience, clinical psychology, and research methods, and actively supervises PhD students.
Key grants include £255,909 from NIHR for the iMAPS-2 trial and £309,266 from CSO for decision-making capacity research. He is a BABCP-accredited CBT practitioner and contributes to the National Scientific Committee of BABCP. His research also explores trauma measures in psychosis populations and digital mental health strategies through initiatives like TechCare.
