Professor Christopher Chapman is a leading academic in educational policy and practice at the University of Glasgow, where he holds the Chair in Educational Policy and Practice. He founded the Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change (2013–2016) and directed Policy Scotland (2016–2021). His work focuses on equity, leadership, and systemic educational improvement. He advises the Scottish Government and international bodies, including the First Minister's International Council of Education Advisers. Key projects include the Children’s Neighbourhoods Scotland initiative, addressing poverty through place-based strategies, and international collaborations such as the Networked Learning System with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.
Chapman’s research explores policy-practice intersections, school networks, and closing achievement gaps. He has authored over 140 peer-reviewed articles and 13 books, including Educational Equity: Pathways to Success (2021).
