Christopher C.M. Lee is a Design Critic in Architecture at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design (GSD), where he has held roles including Arthur Rotch Design Critic, Associate Professor in Practice of Urban Design (2013-2020), and Design Critic (2011-2012). He co-founded Serie Architects, with offices in London, Mumbai, and Singapore, and previously directed the AA Projective Cities MPhil Programme (2010-2012) and AA Diploma/Intermediate Unit (2002-2009). His work focuses on typological reasoning, urbanization, and climate adaptation, with projects such as Singapore Science Park Cluster 1 and the Jameel Art Centre in Dubai.
Education includes an AA Diploma (Honours) from the Architectural Association, RIBA President’s Medal Commendation Award, and a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from TU Delft. His research explores urban typologies and their relevance to globalized architectural discourse.
Notable awards include the President’s Design Award Singapore 2023, International Highrise Award 2022/23, and World Architecture Festival’s Best Mixed-use Building Award 2019. He has contributed to exhibitions and publications, including co-editing Typological Urbanism: Projective Cities and authoring Common Frameworks.
