Christopher Brandt is an Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Activities at Morningside University. He conducts the Wind Ensemble and Pride of Morningside Marching Mustangs, and teaches courses in Instrumental Conducting, Music Methods, and Music Education. His career includes over 15 years of experience in public and collegiate music education, military band service, and semi-professional ensemble leadership.

His research interests focus on music pedagogy, ensemble performance excellence, and the application of conducting techniques. His work has earned national recognition, including the American Prize in 2018 for conducting An Immigrants Story.
Brandt holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Wind Band Conducting (University of Nebraska), a Master of Music in Conducting (Sam Houston State University), and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Leadership (University of Jamestown).
He leads the semi-professional Pershing Winds ensemble and performs with the Central Iowa Wind Ensemble. His military service includes roles as a saxophonist and associate conductor in the U.S. Army’s 451st Army Band.
