Christopher Bisping

Christopher Bisping serves as Dean of the Bucerius Master of Law and Business (MLB) Program at Bucerius Law School, succeeding Prof. Clifford Larsen. He holds German legal qualifications (First and Second State Examinations) and has extensive experience in the UK, including roles as Associate Professor (tenured) at the University of Warwick and Lecturer at the University of Leicester. His research focuses on International Contract and Consumer Law. Prior to his current role, he led postgraduate programs at Warwick and directed interdisciplinary Law and Business degree programs.

• Education: LL.M. in Commercial Law (University of Edinburgh, 2000), legal traineeship with the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law (2000–2003).
• Program Leadership: Oversees the MLB Program, an interdisciplinary initiative for professionals seeking careers at the intersection of law and business. The program enrolls ~40 students annually with a global cohort from over 20 countries.

He emphasizes the value of international legal perspectives, noting similarities and differences between common law (UK) and civil law (Germany) systems. His vision for the MLB Program includes enhancing strategic development and maintaining its reputation as a flagship of Bucerius Law School. Outside academia, he appreciates Hamburg's unique blend of German and British cultural influences.
