Professor Christopher Barratt is the Head of Postgraduate Academic Medicine and Head of Reproductive Medicine at the University of Dundee. He studied BSc Zoology (1982) and PGCE (1983) at Swansea University, which shaped his career trajectory into medicine and education. His research focuses on IVF technologies, male fertility, and contraception development, notably funded by the Gates Foundation to investigate reversible male contraception via non-spermicidal methods. He combines scientific research with global teaching roles, maintaining editorial board memberships and WHO collaborations. A passionate advocate for medical education, his career bridges academia and clinical practice.
