Christopher Barnes

Christopher Barnes is an Associate Professor of English and currently serves as the Associate Dean of Academic Administration at the University of North Georgia's Oconee campus. He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University at Buffalo (2002), an M.A. from the University of Georgia (1987), and a B.A. from Shorter College (1985). His teaching focuses on Romantic and Victorian Literature and first-year composition. His research interests include 19th-century British literature, Charles Dickens, the history of the novel, composition theory, and pedagogical practices.

Dr. Barnes has published in journals such as Dickens Studies Annual and presented widely on Dickens, 19th-century literature, and writing pedagogy.
