Christophe Van Rossom (born April 21, 1969) is a Belgian lecturer, author, poet, and essayist serving as Professor of History of Literature and Theater and History of Performances at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Erasmus University College Brussels. He additionally teaches at the School of Graphic Research and Free University of Brussels, and serves on the editorial board of L'étrangère journal.
His research centers on Literary History, Theater History, French and Belgian Literature, and Poetry, with critical analyses of writers including Mallarmé, Jacques Crickillon, Marcel Moreau, and Jacques Cels. Van Rossom has published poetry collections (Under a Wayward Sky, War Knowledge) and seminal essays such as Mallarmé, facile? and Marcel Moreau: Insubordination and Drunkenness, establishing significant contributions to literary scholarship.
Scientific Awards
- Emmanuel Vossaert Prize (2004) from the Academy of French Language and Literature of Belgium for critical work
Van Rossom represented the French Community of Belgium at the 25th International Poetry Festival in Trois-Rivières, Quebec (2009), reflecting his international recognition in literary arts. His editorial work with L'étrangère further demonstrates active engagement in contemporary literary discourse.
