Christophe Declercq is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication within the Humanities faculty of Utrecht University. His expertise spans Translation Studies, Intercultural Communication, and Refugee/Diaspora Studies, with a focus on English-Dutch translation and historical/contemporary crisis contexts.
His research integrates language technology with historical analysis, particularly examining Belgian refugees during World War I, exile press, and machine translation ethics. Recent work includes contributions to the Routledge Handbook of Translation, Interpreting and Crisis and studies on literary translation in AI-driven environments.
