Christoph Federrath

Christoph Federrath is a Professor and Associate Director HDR at the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Australian National University (ANU). He holds a PhD from Heidelberg University (2010) and has held postdoctoral fellowships at Monash Centre for Astrophysics, Lyon’s École Normale Supérieure, and Heidelberg’s Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics. His research focuses on star formation in the present-day and early Universe, turbulence, magnetic fields, computational methods, and synthetic observation techniques. Federrath has supervised four PhD students and leads projects on computational astrophysics, turbulence dynamics, and galaxy formation. His work integrates numerical simulations with observational data to advance understanding of cosmic phenomena.
