معرفی
Amit Seta is a Research Fellow at the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics, Australian National University. His research focuses on astrophysical turbulence, magnetic fields, the interstellar medium, and cosmic rays. He holds an Integrated M.Sc. in Physics from the UM-DAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai, and a PhD from Newcastle University, UK.
Research Interests:
- Investigating magnetic field dynamics in galaxies and interstellar medium using polarization surveys like STAPS and POSSUM.
- Developing hybrid particle-in-cell codes (e.g., AHKASH) to simulate collisionless plasma in astrophysical environments.
- Exploring cosmic evolution of magnetic fields in galaxy clusters and interstellar turbulence.
Key Projects:
- Leading the Small-scale Magnetic Fields in the Milky Way and the Magellanic Clouds Using Square Kilometre Array Precursors project (2025–2026).
- Contributing to the Polarisation Sky Survey of the Universe’s Magnetism (POSSUM) to map galactic and extragalactic magnetic fields.
His work bridges theoretical models with observational data from facilities like ASKAP, focusing on Faraday rotation measures and HI absorption studies. He collaborates extensively on cosmic magnetic field dynamics and high-performance computing applications in astrophysics.
