Christine Zinni, PhD, is a Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at SUNY Brockport. She holds a PhD (2007) and MA (2000) in American Studies from SUNY Buffalo. Her research focuses on ethnopoetics, oral history, and public history, with emphasis on indigenous and transnational studies, as well as social/environmental justice in food systems. She leads the Food and Culture of the Aegean study abroad program in Greece/Turkey and collaborates with the Explore & More Children’s Museum on folk arts initiatives.
Research Interests:
Non-alphabetic writing systems in indigenous cultures, modern media documentation of traditional arts, and transnational migration narratives. Current projects include a book on Italian-American stone carvers from Abruzzo and documentaries addressing food culture and ecological justice.

ANT 201, 301, 303, 304, 316, 462, 401. Specializes in cultural anthropology, Native American issues, and museum studies.
Professional Engagement:
Committee member for NY State Folklore Society symposiums (2017–2018). Active in museum partnerships and international educational programs.
