Robert Caldwell is an Assistant Professor of Indigenous Studies and Director of Graduate Studies at the University at Buffalo (SUNY). He holds a PhD in Transatlantic History from the University of Texas at Arlington. His research focuses on cartography, ethnohistory, foodways, and colonialism. He has authored Choctaw-Apache Foodways, recognized with a Louisiana Folklife Commission award, and co-edited Choctaw-Apache Voices. He has held fellowships at institutions including the American Philosophical Society and the School for Advanced Research. His teaching spans Indigenous Studies, migration history, and colonialism.
