Christine Rothmayr Allison is a Full Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She is also a researcher at the Centre d'études et de recherches internationales (CÉRIUM) and affiliated with multiple research groups, including CPDS and Regroupement droit, changements et gouvernance.
- Teaches in programs including Political Science (MA, PhD), Public Affairs (MA), Law (MBA, MA in Information Technology Law), and Social Sciences.
Research Focus:
- Legal mobilization and judicial impact on public policy in North America and Europe (e.g., Supreme Court of Canada agenda, judicialization of biotech/biomedicine policies).
- Policy process theories and managerialization of law, with a focus on Switzerland and Canada.
- Policy evaluation (10+ years of experience) and public opinion integration in governance.
Grants and Projects:
- Principal Investigator for Canadian Research projects (2018-2023) funded by SSHRC (CRSH) and FRQSC.
- Co-investigator for the REBOUND project (2023-2026) on transnational governance and European boundaries.
Advising: Supervised thesis work on topics including military institutional experiences of women, decentralization in Niger, and same-sex unions in Canada/US.
