Christine Ries is a Professor of Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she joined the School of Economics in 1999. Previously, she held faculty positions at Harvard Business School, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Stanford University, and Claremont Graduate University’s Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management Center. Her interdisciplinary work bridges free market economics, corporate financial strategy, and technology innovation.

- Leadership Roles: First permanent Chair of the School of Economics at Georgia Tech
Her research focuses on global corporate financial management, economic development, and tax policy, particularly in the context of emerging markets and technology-driven economies. Recent publications analyze capital controls, corporate investment behavior, and the application of Big Data analytics in economic policy. She has authored over 20 case studies on foreign exchange risk management and corporate value creation.
