Christine R. Dahlin is a Professor of Biology at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, affiliated with the Natural Sciences Division and Biology Department. She holds a PhD from New Mexico State University (2010), with prior degrees from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Northern Arizona University. Her research focuses on avian behavior, conservation of parrots (especially yellow-naped amazons), and STEM inclusion. She leads the Dahlin Avian Research Lab and collaborates with the Mesoamerican Parrot Census Network (MPCN).
Her courses include Ornithology, Animal Behavior, and Wildlife Management. She mentors student research, emphasizing fieldwork and conservation. Her work bridges ecology, conservation, and education, addressing threats to endangered species like the yellow-naped amazon. She actively publishes on vocal dialects, population declines, and conservation strategies, with recent contributions in Frontiers in Bird Science and Animal Behaviour.
