Christine Purves is a retired lecturer in Music and Speech at Bluffton University, where she directed choirs, taught speech, and produced theatrical works like Gilbert and Sullivan's The Sorcerer.
She served as inaugural program director for Marbeck Center (1968) and later taught religious education in Botswana through the UCC. Purves is noted for mentoring student-athletes and received the Larry W. Jones Award for athletic support.
Her 2012 Faculty/Staff Service Award recognized lifelong community engagement, including church mentorship and global education initiatives.
