Dr. Christine Ngaruiya is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, with a focus on global health research and non-communicable disease (NCD) studies in Africa. She previously served as DEM Wellness Officer and Director of Global Health Research until July 2023 and now maintains an adjunct faculty role.
Education:
- MD from University of Nebraska (2010)
- Residency at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (2013)
- MSc and Diploma in Tropical Medicine & International Health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2015-2016)
- NIH Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (TIDIRH) graduate (2019-2020)
Her research spans NCDs in disaster settings, gender equity in African academia, and AI applications in cardiovascular care. She has secured NIH (NHLBI/NIDA), USAID, World Bank, and Gates Foundation funding for ED-based NCD studies in Kenya and Pakistan.

- Received Yale Global Health Leadership Institute Hecht-Albert pilot award
