Archana Shrestha

Archana Shrestha is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health, with a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington (2016). She specializes in implementation science and non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention in low-resource settings. Her roles include co-PI of the Dhulikhel Heart Study, a longitudinal cardiovascular study in Nepal, and Co-Director of the NHLBI T32 training grant for translational research in Nepal. She also leads a worksite diabetes prevention initiative and serves as Country Director for the North Pacific Global Health Research Fellows program with the University of Washington.

Education: PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington, Seattle (2016).

Research Focus: Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes prevention, global health interventions, and implementation science. Notable projects include community-based diabetes management trials, public food procurement policy development, and cervical cancer screening initiatives. Her work emphasizes scalable solutions for NCDs in low-income countries.

Publications: Over 60 peer-reviewed articles, focusing on implementation science, NCD prevention, and health systems strengthening in Nepal and beyond.

Awards: Fulbright Student Scholarship Award (2009).
