Dr. Christine Hahn is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She specializes in translational research addressing substance use and traumatic stress among survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Her work focuses on developing technology-based interventions to improve access to care in primary care and community settings.
Dr. Hahn’s research explores emotional regulation mechanisms linking trauma exposure to risky behaviors like alcohol misuse. She investigates women’s reproductive health intersections with traumatic stress and has secured NIH funding (NIAAA, NIDA, NIMH) to advance her career. Key achievements include a Career Development Award from NIAAA for testing an early intervention targeting PTSD and alcohol use disorder post-sexual assault.
As Director of Sexual Assault Follow-Up Services at the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center, she mentors psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows.
