Christine Coch is an Associate Professor and Director of Studies for the Department of English at the College of the Holy Cross. Her academic focus centers on Renaissance literature and cultural studies, with specialized expertise in Shakespearean works and Elizabethan-era topics.
Her research explores diverse themes including Elizabeth I's self-representation, Tudor motherhood concepts, early modern gardens in literature (notably Aemilia Lanyer's works), aesthetic philosophy in Spenser's Bower of Bliss, and the paradox of pleasure in late Elizabethan poetry. She is currently investigating the role of wonder in early 17th-century literary practice.
