معرفی
Christine Chiu is a Professor at the Department of Atmospheric Science, Colorado State University (CSU), within the College of Engineering. She holds editorial roles, including Associate Editor of J. Geophysical Research–Atmosphere and Co-Editor of Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics. Prior to CSU, she was an Associate Professor at the University of Reading (2010-2017).
Education:
- Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences, Purdue University
- M.S. and B.S. in Atmospheric Science, National Central University, Taiwan
Research Interests: Focus on remote sensing, radiative transfer, and cloud-aerosol-precipitation interactions. Her work develops novel methods for observing clouds/precipitation, investigates 3D radiative impacts of clouds, quantifies aerosol effects on precipitation, and improves climate models using remote sensing. She also applies machine learning for causal discovery and aerosol-cloud process analysis.
Awards:
- National Academy of Engineering Gilbreth Lectureship (2010)
- NASA Best Senior Author Publications (2010, 2006)
- Atmospheric Environment Reviewers Award (2009)
Advising & Grants: Leads the Chiu Research Group focusing on cloud-aerosol processes and machine learning applications. Engaged in field campaigns like ACE-ENA and LASIC. Active in international committees such as the International Radiation Commission and ARM Science Board.
Labs/Teams: Directs a research group advancing remote sensing techniques and climate modeling, collaborating on projects like DACCIWA and Layered Atlantic Smoke Interactions with Clouds (LASIC).
