Baike Xi is a Research Professor in the Department of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Arizona. Her expertise encompasses cloud chemistry, atmospheric radiative transfer, pollution transport, and cloud parameterizations in climate models.
Xi's research utilizes advanced remote sensing techniques including radar, lidar, and satellite observations to analyze cloud microphysics, aerosol-cloud interactions, and radiative impacts. Her recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on marine boundary layer clouds, climate model validation, and aerosol radiative effects across global field campaigns like SOCRATES, ACE-ENA, and MARCUS.
Current investigations emphasize Southern Ocean cloud properties, clear-sky radiative flux modeling, and biomass burning aerosols' climate impacts. She maintains extensive collaborations within major atmospheric research programs including the ARM Climate Research Facility.
