Christina W. O'Bryan serves as a Courtesy Research Associate and Pro Tem Instructor in the School of Law at the University of Oregon, teaching Conflict and Gender: Warfare, Militarization and Peacemaking within the Legal Studies program. She concurrently holds teaching appointments in the Department of Anthropology and Judaic Studies program, with additional instruction at Willamette University this academic year.
Her academic credentials include:
- Bachelor of Arts in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University
- Doctor of Philosophy in Cultural Anthropology from University of Oregon (2014)
Dr. O'Bryan's research integrates cultural and medical anthropology through interdisciplinary investigations of gender, mobility, and environmental systems. Her current projects examine identity formation among Afghan women in Vancouver, sustainable permaculture practices in British Columbia's boreal forests, and clinical interactions in Charcot joint arthropathy treatment—demonstrating her commitment to sociocultural health and environmental resilience.
Her teaching portfolio spans culture and psychology, food systems, medical anthropology, and American Jewish cultures, reflecting her multifaceted expertise across anthropological subfields and institutional boundaries.
