Christina Villarreal is a Lecturer on Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). She holds a Ph.D. in Social Studies Education from Columbia University (2019), an Ed.M. from Harvard (2005), and prior degrees from UC Berkeley, SF State, and Columbia. Her work focuses on humanizing pedagogies, racial literacy, and radical healing in K-12 classrooms. She previously taught middle school social studies and served as an assistant principal in East Oakland, CA. Currently, she teaches HGSE’s Ethnic Studies and Education course and collaborates with organizations like the Flourish Agenda and Acosta Educational Partnership.
