Christina Pastan, DMD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics and the Director of Mind-Body Wellness at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. With a career spanning over 25 years as a volunteer clinical instructor, she pioneered wellness education in dental training after identifying gaps in stress management support.

- BA in Chemistry, Wheaton College (1988)

- 300-hour Certified Yoga Instructor, Kripalu Center (2015)
Research Focus: Dr. Pastan specializes in integrating Mind-Body Practices into dental education to address Occupational Stress, enhance Professional Resilience, and improve Patient Care through mindfulness. Her work includes pandemic-era adaptations of wellness training.
Academic Contributions: She developed a mandatory wellness course for first-year students and leads weekly meditation/yoga sessions for faculty/staff. Her recent publications explore mindfulness techniques for reducing burnout and enhancing professionalism in dental education.
Leadership: As chair of the TUSDM Health and Wellness Committee, she collaborates with administration to cultivate institutional wellness culture. She maintains a clinical practice while advocating for systemic changes in dental healthcare training.
