Christina Bashford is a Professor of Musicology at the University of Illinois's School of Music, serving as Area Chair. She specializes in cultural musicology, focusing on 19th-20th century British music, chamber music, and music's role during wartime. Her research explores intersections of class, gender, and national identity through music, including violin culture and World War I musical responses. She holds a BA from Oxford University, MM and PhD from King's College London, and a teaching certificate from Oxford Brookes.
