Dr. Christiane Turza is a Researcher at the Chair of Practical Philosophy at the University of Regensburg since January 2023. She earned her doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Münster in July 2021 with the dissertation "What is the manipulation of people and what is their ethical status?" under Prof. Dr. Reinold Schmücker and Prof. Dr. Peter Schaber. Her academic journey includes a DAAD research stay at the University of Zurich (2018–2018) and two Visiting Scholar positions at the University of Pittsburgh (2016 and 2015). She holds a Magistra Artium in Philosophy, Romance Studies, and Sociology from Münster (2009), focusing on "Theories of the Mind and the Limits of Meaning" under Prof. Dr. Oliver R. Scholz.
- Research Interests: Ethics of Communication, Manipulation, Autonomy, Consent, Action Theory, Nudging, Paternalism, Kantian Philosophy, Philosophy of Language, and Metaphilosophy.
- Key Publications: Monograph Manipulation. On the Concept and Ethical Status (2023) and the Journal of Practical Philosophy introduction (2023) on freedom of speech.
- Teaching: Courses include Epistemic Injustice (SS 2025), Forgiveness (WS 2024/2025), What is Moralism? (SS 2024), Care Ethics (WS 2023/24), and Philosophy of Lies (SS 2023). She also taught Kant's formula of self-purpose at the University of Leipzig (WS 2017/2018).
