Christian Lotz

Christian Lotz is a Professor of Philosophy at Michigan State University, serving as Associate Chair and Director of Graduate Studies. He holds a PhD from the University of Marburg and has taught at institutions including the University of Kansas and Seattle University. His research focuses on Post-Kantian European philosophy, German philosophy, Marx, and contemporary political philosophy. Lotz has held DAAD visiting professorships in Germany and received notable awards such as the Fintz Award for Teaching Excellence (2014). His work bridges critical theory, phenomenology, and socio-political analysis.
