Dr. Christian Klesse is a Tutor in the Department of Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he has been employed since August 2006. His academic career includes a Sociological Review Research Fellowship at Keele University (2004/2005) and a role as an Associated Lecturer at the University of Hamburg (2004-2006), where he designed and taught modules on queer theory and bisexuality.
Research areas include gender and sexuality studies, non-monogamy, transnational LGBTQ activism, embodiment, and qualitative methodologies. He supervises postgraduate research projects in gender and sexuality studies and contributes to the MA 'Sociology and Global Change' program.
His completed research projects explore topics such as queer non-monogamies, Jewish gay male activism, and modern primitivism. He has served as Year Tutor for Cultural Studies, Sociology, and Criminology students and as Health and Safety Officer for the Department.
