Christian Jörgensen is a Policy Officer and Ph.D. in Economics at the AgriFood Economics Centre, part of the Lund University School of Economics and Management. His research focuses on food and agricultural economics, including consumer prices, food security, organic food markets, food labeling, public procurement, and food industry productivity using micro-level data.
He has contributed to significant projects such as the FORCE Center for Food Resilience and Competitiveness (2024–2028) and 'How to Make Consumers Choose Plant-Based Food in the Store' (2025). His work bridges academic research with policy applications, addressing challenges like climate impact mitigation and sustainable agricultural practices.
Research interests emphasize practical solutions for food systems, including reducing environmental footprints and enhancing food security through evidence-based strategies. His recent publications explore topics ranging from organic farming sustainability to EU food security governance.
Notably involved in collaborative initiatives such as the CONSTRAINTS project (2018–2022) analyzing organic farming constraints, and organizing workshops like the 2022 seminar on sustainable agriculture. His interdisciplinary approach integrates economic analysis with environmental and policy frameworks.
