Christen Madrazo is an English Lecturer and Director of the Writing Program at John Jay College, CUNY. She specializes in storytelling, educational innovation, and community engagement. Notable roles include directing the Life Out Loud podcast and leading experiential learning initiatives such as the Tanzania study abroad program and the Prison-to-College Pipeline Program at Otisville Correctional Facility. Her work spans international collaborations, including projects in Slovakia, Ecuador, and Tanzania, funded by grants like the CUNY Experiential Learning Grant and U.S. Embassy grants.
Research interests include integrating storytelling into pedagogy, cultural preservation through narrative, and leveraging arts-based methods in marginalized communities. Her podcast Life Out Loud showcases diverse voices and has produced 50+ stories across 16 episodes.
