Melissa King is a Lecturer in the Department of English, Rhetoric and Writing and Director of the Writing Center at Berry College. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Portland State University, focusing on Literary Theory, British literature, and Children’s literature. She pursued a PhD at the University of Connecticut (ABD), shifting her research to translation, adaptation, and illustration in European fairy tales. She has taught in the U.S. and Doha, Qatar, and received grants including a U.S. Embassy grant for a literary journal and speaker series in Qatar and an ACE grant for community engagement. She also collaborates with Dr. Sarah Allred and Inside-Out Sociology students to support writing resources at Floyd County Prison.
