Dr. Van Dora Williams is a Professor and Assistant Dean of Administration in the Division of Communication & Creative Media at Champlain College. She holds a PhD in Communication from Regent University, with additional degrees from CUNY Hunter College. A veteran journalist and documentary producer, her expertise spans Documentary Filmmaking, Media History, and African American History. She co-created the Game Sound Design program and leads international service-learning initiatives, such as projects in The Gambia and Saudi Arabia. Her work includes Emmy- and Telly-award-winning documentaries like Banished and Tell Them We Are Rising, alongside grants-funded projects examining Vermont’s cultural heritage. Current research explores the Progressive Era’s societal impacts.
