Prof. Dr. Christel Meier-Staubach directed research projects at the University of Münster's Cluster of Excellence 'Religion and Politics' from 2008 to 2018. She led studies on medieval and renaissance authorship (2008-2012) and later investigated holiness and political claims in vitae, letters, and prophecies (2013-2018).
Her scholarship explores authority construction in medieval texts, the performativity of sainthood, and how prophetic writings influenced political design. She analyzes literary strategies that legitimize religious and secular power across historical periods.
