Chris Whittle is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics at the University of Winchester, where he has served since September 2009. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Aquatic Sports Science from the University of Portsmouth (2007), an MSc in Sports and Exercise Biomechanics from the University of Chichester (2009), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE). He was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2014. He is currently pursuing a part-time PhD investigating the role of intra-individual movement variability in cycling.
His expertise spans sports biomechanics and research methodologies. Key research interests include validating modern ergometry equipment, developing assistive devices for sports, and reducing injury risks in cycling. His work emphasizes movement variability as a critical factor in athletic performance and injury prevention.
Awarded FHEA, Whittle is committed to pedagogical excellence in higher education. Though no specific grants or advising programs are detailed, his academic trajectory reflects sustained contributions to sports science education and applied research.
