Chris Montes

Chris Montes is a Research Plant Physiologist affiliated with the Global Change and Photosynthesis Research Unit at the USDA-ARS and collaborates with the Leverhulme Centre for Climate Change Mitigation (LC3M) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Environment (iSEE).

• Expertise: Molecular and physiological mechanisms of crop responses to elevated CO₂ and ozone pollution.
• Key Focus: Utilizing FACE (Free-Air Carbon Dioxide Enrichment) technology to phenotype plant populations under abiotic stress and explore climate change mitigation strategies via enhanced rock weathering.
