Chris Mitchell

Chris Mitchell is a Principal Lecturer in Hospitality Management at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. With extensive international industry experience spanning restaurants, hotels, and cruise lines, Mitchell translates operational expertise into curriculum development and industry partnerships. He currently leads hospitality degree programs while maintaining external engagement through Springboard Northwest, Hospitality Action, and Manchester Hoteliers Association.

His pedagogical innovations include integrating Hotel Operations Tactics and Strategy (HOTS) simulations into management training and developing data analytics applications for hospitality education. Mitchell's industry-education bridge-building earned him the EuroCHRIE Laureate Hospitality Achievement Award in 2016. Current research explores psychological safety and innovation in hotel sector employment contexts.
