Pamela Reckert is a full-time Lecturer in the Hospitality Team within the Operations, Technology, Events and Hospitality Management department at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School. She joined the academic staff in September 2022 after nine years as a guest lecturer, bringing 24 years of extensive industry experience from 4 and 5-star hotels across the UK, Ireland, Seychelles, and Abu Dhabi.
Her research focuses on technological innovations and sustainability advancements in hospitality operations, drawing directly from her corporate travel management role where she served on the Green Team developing sustainable travel initiatives. She examines how digital transformation impacts hotel management and guest experiences while prioritizing eco-friendly practices.
Reckert teaches interactive courses in Sales and Marketing, Management, Leadership, and Digital Hospitality, incorporating real-world case studies from her executive roles at Marriott and Mottram Hall. She actively partners with industry through hotel site visits and guest lectures, maintaining student availability during business hours (09:00-17:00) in Business School room 2.01 for personalized guidance and mentorship.
