Chris Hardacre is a Professor and currently serves as Vice Dean and Head of the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Manchester. He holds a B.A. in Natural Sciences and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Chemical Engineers, he has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Royal Society of Chemistry Encouraging Innovation Award (2005), US R&D 100 Award (2008), and the IChemE’s Andrew Medal (2013). His research focuses on catalysis, ionic liquids, and material structure analysis, utilizing advanced techniques like synchrotron radiation and neutron scattering. Hardacre leads projects in the UK Catalysis Hub and contributes to carbon capture initiatives (4CU). He has authored over 420 papers, holds 9 patents, and maintains collaborations globally. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing environmental sustainability and clean energy.
