معرفی
Chris Dobie is an Associate Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health. He holds dual roles as a Medicinal Chemist at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation and a Pharmaceutical Chemistry Evaluator at the Therapeutic Goods Administration. His academic career spans roles since 2021, with a focus on interdisciplinary research in medicinal chemistry, radiation biology, and neutron-based technologies.
Education:
- PhD in Chemistry, University of Wollongong (2017–2021)
- International Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Honours, University of Wollongong (2013–2016)
Research interests include neutron capture therapy, organic synthesis of enzyme inhibitors, radiation biology applications, and pharmacological analysis of medicinal plants. His work bridges medicinal chemistry with biomedical engineering, particularly in developing neutron-based imaging tools and therapeutic agents for cancer treatment. Recent projects focus on optimizing radiation doses via neutron capture effects and synthesizing PARP-1 inhibitors for brain tumors.
Grant activity includes an AINSE Early Career Researcher Grant (2023) for neutron capture therapy research. He currently supervises a PhD candidate exploring neutron capture-enhanced particle therapy agents. His lab collaborates across institutions to advance translational research in radiation oncology and medicinal chemistry.
