Chris Coleman

Chris Coleman is Professor and Director of ACCAD (Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design) at Ohio State University's Department of Art. His practice spans sculpture, animation, creative coding, and interactive installations, focusing on complex systems and control mechanisms. He holds an MFA from SUNY Buffalo.

Coleman's research investigates sociotechnical systems through digital and physical mediums, utilizing open-source tools for artistic expression. His work has been exhibited globally across 25+ countries.

He founded the Clinic for Open Source Arts (COSA), supported by Knight Foundation, NEA (5 grants), and Mellon Foundation. COSA fosters collaborative development in digital art tools.
