Chris Cohen is an Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Randolph College, joining the faculty for the 2019-20 academic year. Originally a military brat, he has resided in Lynchburg for over two decades—longer than any other location—and considers it his home. Prior to this appointment, Cohen maintained a dual career spanning 20 years: working as an IT developer/designer while serving as an adjunct art instructor at Randolph College for approximately ten years.
His teaching emphasizes student autonomy in artistic development, with courses including Digital Photography, Monotype Printmaking, and Intermediate Drawing. Cohen encourages students to become "the curators and creators of their own aesthetic," reflecting his interdisciplinary background bridging technology and traditional art forms.
